Ph.D in economics, Roland de Penanros was a lecturer at the University of Western Brittany (Université de Bretagne Occidentale) until 2004, where he chaired E3D, a research group on defense and sustainable development. From 2004 to 2010, he was also a member of CNEMA (French national commission for eliminating antipersonnel mines). Still very committed to defense issues, he is a leading contributor to the “European Peace University”, a peace-oriented forum gathering people from various background in Brest.
Research: industry conversion, naval industry, regional and local development.
Teaching: economic anthropology, microeconomics, defense economics, regional science.
