Emma Soubrier is a PhD Candidate in Political Science at Auvergne University (Clermont I) and attached to the Strategic Research Institute. Previously, she undertook a Master’s Program in International Relations at the Sorbonne University where she gratuated as valedictorian in 2011. She currently studies the evolving defence policies and procurement strategies of Qatar and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). This research is funded by the Directorate General of Armament (DGA) of the French Ministry of Defense and the industrial company Airbus Defence & Space. In 2013, Emma was one of the Young Strategists selected by the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) and Johns Hopkins University’s Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS).
