International Conference “The future of the European defense industry at stake”,
Grenoble (France), 6-7th November 2014
The elections of the European Parliament and the appointment of a new Commission open new perspectives on the construction of the European defense and the evolution of defense industrial and technological base. There are several issues at stake, since defense budgets are increasingly under pressure, defense markets are far from integrated, states are reluctant to engage in a genuine policy of cooperation and harmonization…
To discuss these issues, CESICE (University Pierre Mendes France, Grenoble) and ENSTA Bretagne (Brest) organize on November 6th and 7th, 2014 an international conference focusing on the future of the European defense industry in Grenoble. This conference will propose a multidisciplinary approach by combining economics (industrial restructuring, arms trade…), law (arms export controls, the role of the state in the industry…) and international relations (intra-European transatlantic relations…).
